Meet our new Board Members
As a nonprofit organization, our operations heavily rely on the invaluable support of volunteers. Among these dedicated individuals, our Board of Directors stands out as some of our most committed supporters. Comprising individuals passionate about our organization's mission, our board members generously offer their time and expertise to provide strategic direction and oversight.
Their responsibilities extend to ensuring the financial stability of our organization, endorsing policies, and defining our overall strategic trajectory. We are excited to announce the addition of five new members to our esteemed board. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will undoubtedly enrich our board discussions and further strengthen our ability to fulfill our mission.
Manuel A Báez
Manuel A Báez is a singer with the IMC and an active member in the Indianapolis LGBTQ+ community. Having moved to Indianapolis in February 2023, he found community and friendship by joining the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus and Stonewall Sports. He has been a Teamster for 18 years and is a vocal supporter of labor rights. He represents 1000+ workers in the Indianapolis area in his role as the Airline Division Director for Teamster Local 135. He founded an LGBTQ+ Caucus last year on National Coming Out Day. He looks forward to using his local and national connections to expand the reach of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus.
Liz Klimes
Elizabeth Klimes is a retired Vice-President of Lean Six Sigma at Eli Lilly and Company, where she served in various roles over her 32-year career. An Indiana native now residing in Greenwood, Klimes earned her MBA from Indiana University.
She joined Lilly in 1982 as a design engineer in process automation. Over the years, she worked in manufacturing facility and capacity planning before becoming the manager of manufacturing strategy development in 1989. Her other positions at the company included executive director, chief procurement officer, and general manager of Lilly Deutschland GmbH.
Rebekah Mackey Sanderson
Rebekah is an attorney in Taft’s Indianapolis office where she practices business law. She focuses her practice on general commercial transactions, privacy and data security, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to law school, Rebekah worked at the Indiana State Senate as a press secretary and legislative assistant and at the Indiana Supreme Court as a legal extern for Justice Steven David. She was a summer associate with Taft in 2018.
Rebekah received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Indiana University McKinney School of Law and her B.S. in arts administration, cum laude, from Butler University.
Rob Smith
Rob Smith is the Operations Manager at Cardinal Copier Solutions, a family company founded 20 years ago. The business continues a family legacy in the office supply industry that stretches back to the 1950s. The Smith family entered the industry by selling the newest technology available on the market: adding machines.
Rob was born in Lafayette, IN, but despite growing up in Boilermaker territory, he decided to attend Indiana University, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business. He continued his education with an MBA in Applied Management from Indiana Wesleyan University a few years later. After spending more than a decade in the finance industry, Rob was called to return to his roots and work alongside his father.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys playing golf, target sports, running, hiking, and traveling, and he is an avid reader. Rob is also an ardent supporter of the Indianapolis arts community and enjoys season tickets with multiple organizations, including the Indianapolis Opera. He also enjoys supporting the community through volunteer work with organizations such as Indianapolis Rotary, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, and Friends of the White River.
Kristin St. Pierre
Kristin A. St.Pierre, is a licensed Advanced Planning Professional for Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. She had spent over 20 years at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Territory Manager. She later joined the family funeral business providing prearranged funeral services to the community. Kristin is a graduate of Franklin College, where she was active with Pi Beta Phi and other activities. She is a long time Greenwood resident, and attends Southland Community Church. Kristin is married to her husband Paul, and her children, Avery and Ryan attend Center Grove schools. She loves spending time with family and friends.
